Investigation of storage tanks responses, that are referred to as lifelines and substructures, against events such as blast is quite important. The purpose of the project was to investigate numerically, the responses of ground storage tanks subjected to blast loads

Numerical simulations were conducted using ABAQUS finite element package, and different parameters such as load configuration, mass and distance of the explosive materials to the structure, and geometry, were evaluated on different levels

The effects from each parameter on the response of the structure were evaluated based on the existing performance evaluation guidelines
